Who is KIKI ROMEO?
Born on January 16th, 1987, Kiki Romeo spent the first six years of his life in Togo, West Africa. Raised in a single family home Kiki Romeo's mother was adamant about him and his older brother going to church. His first introduction to music Kiki Romeo was drawn to the church choir and quickly became the drummer. His big break came in 1996 when he won a local MC contest sponsored by one of the biggest festivals in Africa, FESTEF. Few months later Kiki Romeo's fame was cut short when he moved involuntarily to Marseille, France to live with his father. Adapting quickly to his new surroundings Kiki Romeo fell in love with French hip-hop and rap. While developing his language skills Kiki Romeo began rapping and soon gave birth to his own style of French and American hip-hop mix. With this new style at the age of 16 he decided to pursue a career in the world of hip-hop. In 2003, KiKi Romeo wrote and produced Sacrifice, his debut album. The album spawned a number of breakaway singles including, “Je Voudrais Partir” featuring Ossara, “Tatim Ne Mavo,” & “G La Money.” Empowered by the first albums success Kiki Romeo decided to return to the studio to start work on his second album. Before his work could be completed Kiki Romeo was once again forced to move, this time here to the states in order to continue his education. After a few years of long hard work Kiki Romeo graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Electronics & Computer Technology. KiKi Romeo moved to Indianapolis, IN where he plans to continue his music career, fusing African, French, and American hip-hop. With his accent, talent, and style, KiKi Romeo has everything to take his hip-hop into a unique and unbreakable dimension.
